7-day trial · card required

Free electronic signature software.

Sign or send 3 free envelopes in total. 7-day trial; card required, no recipient limit, and an AATL-backed certificate on every completed document — including during the free trial.

What you get

A free trial, with signing essentials.

Most free e-signature tiers withhold the part that makes a signed document hold up. This one does not.

3 envelopes total

Three free envelopes across self-signing and sending. These three envelopes are available during your 7-day trial and do not reset.

7-day trial; card required

A payment method is required at secure checkout. After 7 days, Starter costs $4.99 for the first month, then $15/month unless you cancel in Plans & Billing. Taxes may apply.

No recipient cap

An envelope can go to as many signers as the document needs. Several free plans in this category limit you to two.

The AATL seal, during the free trial

Completed documents carry an AATL-backed certificate, so the signed PDF opens in Adobe Acrobat without a trust warning. This is the part most free tiers do not include at any price.

A tamper-evident audit trail

Every view, field entry and signature is recorded, and the finished document is sealed so later edits are detectable.

Legally binding under ESIGN and UETA

Signatures collected through PearSign are intended to be binding under the same U.S. statutes that govern electronic signatures generally.

Questions

Before you sign up.

Is PearSign's electronic signature software really free?

New organizations receive 3 free envelopes during a 7-day trial. A payment method is required at secure checkout. Unless canceled, Starter costs $4.99 for the first month, then $15/month. Taxes may apply. Existing organizations retain their agreed terms.

Are free electronic signatures legally binding?

Signatures collected through PearSign are intended to be legally binding under the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA — the same statutes that govern electronic signatures generally. Using the free trial does not change the legal standing of the signature, and does not remove the certificate of completion or the audit trail.

What happens when I use all my free envelopes?

You can choose to start Starter early for $4.99 if you need more envelopes. Otherwise, your saved payment method is charged $4.99 when the 7-day trial ends, then $15/month on renewal unless you cancel. Cancel in Settings → Plans & Billing before the trial ends to avoid the first charge. Taxes may apply. Existing signing requests remain available to recipients.

Do I need an account to sign a document someone sends me?

No. Recipients sign from a secure link in a browser or on a phone with no account and no download. Only the person sending the document needs an account.
