Combine several PDFs into one file in a few clicks. Add your documents, drag the pages into the order you want, and download a single merged PDF. You can also rotate or remove individual pages before you merge, so the finished file comes out right the first time.

How to merge PDF files

  1. Click Choose PDFs or drag two or more PDFs into the upload box.
  2. Every page from every file appears as a thumbnail. Click Add PDFs to bring in more files.
  3. Drag pages into the right order, or select pages and use the arrow buttons. Shift-click selects a range.
  4. Rotate or delete any page you don't want. Undo and redo are there if you change your mind.
  5. Click Preview & download, check the preview, then click Download PDF. You'll need a PearSign account to download. New accounts must verify their email before signing in.

When to use it

  • Combining a signed contract with its exhibits or attachments into one file
  • Putting monthly statements or invoices into a single PDF for your accountant
  • Joining scanned pages that came out as separate files
  • Sending one tidy document instead of a long list of email attachments

Good to know

  • You need at least two PDFs to merge. With the basic allowance you can combine up to 20 files, up to 25 MB each and 100 MB in total, with up to 200 pages altogether.
  • Page by page, not just file by file. You can mix pages from different PDFs in any order. You don't have to keep each file together.
  • Forms and signatures: fillable form values are kept as fixed text on the page. If a PDF was digitally signed, the visible signature is kept but the digital signature doesn't carry over to the merged copy.
  • Password-protected PDFs can't be merged. Unlock them first.
  • Privacy: when you click Preview & download, your files are sent to PearSign's servers to build the merged PDF. The result is available for one hour, and you can delete it sooner.
  • Account: merging and previewing are free. Downloading needs a PearSign account (5 jobs per hour with the basic allowance).
  • New accounts: signup directs you to a card-required 7-day Starter trial checkout. See pricing and trial terms. The one-hour result window continues during checkout and email verification; if it expires, upload your file again.

FAQ

How do I combine PDF files into one?

Upload the PDFs, arrange the pages in the order you want, and click Preview & download. PearSign creates one PDF containing all the pages you kept.

Can I change the order of pages from different files?

Yes. All pages appear in one grid, so you can drag page 3 of one file between two pages of another.

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

Up to 20 PDFs per job with the basic allowance, as long as each file is 25 MB or less, the total is 100 MB or less, and the merged document has 200 pages or fewer. Paid PearSign plans allow bigger files and more pages.

Is merging PDFs free?

Merging and previewing are free. To download the merged PDF, sign in or create a PearSign account. Downloading the same result again doesn't count as another job.

Ready to send it? Merge the contract and its attachments, then send the combined PDF for e-signature with PearSign.
